GRAND FORKS, BRITISH COLUMBIA
CALI, a one-year-old Cocker-Spaniel, owned by Barry and Sharon Savitskoff, refused to leave the side of five-year-old Cassie Savitskoff who had wandered away from her campsite. Cassie was lost for three days in the woods near the B.C.-Washington border. Cali stayed with her young owner, kept her warm and protected her from danger until they were both discovered by searchers.
At Purina, we celebrate the deep and meaningful connection between pets and people. This bond is the foundation of the Purina Animal Hall of Fame, Canada’s longest-running pet recognition program. Since its launch, the Hall of Fame has honoured hundreds of animals for their extraordinary acts of bravery, loyalty, and compassion.
These animals have demonstrated remarkable courage—saving lives, comforting those in distress, and standing by their humans through thick and thin. Their stories serve as a testament to the powerful role pets play in our lives and communities. Each inductee has left a legacy that continues to inspire.
