At Purina, we believe that pets and people are better together. We work with the animal welfare community to give back, knowing that pets make our world a better place.
Nestlé Purina Canada is proud to support registered animal rescue and education organizations across the country, including SPCAs, community leash-free parks, and rescue groups. We actively work with many rescues and shelters to provide food the animals in their care. Every year, we donate tens of thousands of kilograms of food to pets in need—to ensure animals waiting for their forever homes are well fed.
We also donate our veterinary products to guide dog groups across the country. We believe that our products can help fuel the workdays of the puppies and dogs in these programs, so they can provide comfort and independence for Canadians living with visual or hearing impairments, seizure response, autism assistance and diabetic alert.
If you are a registered Canadian charity and would like to submit a request for sponsorship, please contact us at [email protected] with the details of your request, including your registered charity number. Due to the volume of requests we receive, it may take us 4-6 weeks to respond to you if we are able to offer your charity assistance.
Each year, over 41,000 humans find their furever love on Petfinder in Canada. Petfinder has a database of hundreds of thousands of adoptable pets, from more than 600 shelters and rescue groups throughout Canada.
At Purina, we understand that pets and people have a remarkable connection – and it’s this unique bond that is celebrated through the Purina Animal Hall of Fame. The Purina Animal Hall of Fame is the longest running Canadian pet recognition program of its kind. To date, 179 remarkable animals with outstanding lifesaving acts of animal courage and heroism have been inducted.
We are proud supports of CAMH and donate to their in-house pet therapy program. This program focuses on making regular visits to those living on the CAMH campus and undergoing treatment for mental health and addiction. Participants in the pet therapy program interact with visiting dogs, which has shown to have a positive effect on their rehabilitation.
Nestlé Purina Canada has been a long-standing supporter of the United Way and is proud of the success we have had in raising funds for them. Our commitment has grown over the years—since the beginning of our partnership more than a decade ago, we have donated over $1 million to United Ways across the country, with a combined effort through employee donations and corporate gifts. In 2018, we donated more than $40,000 to The United Way!
