LAC-AU-SAUMON, QUÉBEC

RICKY, a four year-old Husky/Shepherd mix was the only one to see his owner, Paul-Hubert Gasse, get his arm caught in a snowblower in the yard outside his home. Mrs. Gasse was alerted to her husband’s accident by Ricky’s frenzied barking and was able to rush him to a near-by hospital.

The Purina Animal Hall of Fame is a tribute to the incredible bond between pets and people. As Canada’s longest-standing pet recognition program, it celebrates animals whose acts of courage and loyalty have made a profound impact on the lives of others.

At Purina, we believe that pets are more than companions—they are heroes. Since the program began, hundreds of animals have been inducted for their bravery, compassion, and unwavering devotion. These stories remind us of the strength and resilience that pets bring into our lives.

We invite you to explore the stories of past inductees and consider nominating a pet who has shown exceptional courage or loyalty.
