BRUNO, a nine-month-old German Shepard saved the life of eleven-year-old Donnie Skiffington when he was thrown from his bicycle into a ditch, where he lay unconscious and bleeding severely. Bruno licked Donnie’s face until he regained consciousness, and began to pull him by the shirt collar towards home.
At Purina, we honour the powerful connection between pets and people through the Purina Animal Hall of Fame. This program, the longest-running of its kind in Canada, recognizes animals whose acts of bravery and loyalty have changed lives.
These pets have gone beyond companionship—saving lives, offering comfort, and standing by their humans in times of need. Their stories are a testament to the strength of the human-animal bond and the incredible impact pets have on our well-being.
Each inductee into the Hall of Fame represents courage, resilience, and unconditional love. Their legacies continue to inspire Canadians to value and celebrate the animals in their lives.
