ROCKY MOUNTAIN HOUSE, ALBERTA
Balloo and Jessie, four and one-year-old Bernese Mountain dogs, stayed with their owner, Ursula Tait, who fell down a rocky embankment after fainting on a hiking trip. Acting quickly, Balloo raced down the steep slop and stopped Ursula's fall, preventing her from colliding with the trees and rocks below.
The Purina Animal Hall of Fame is a tribute to the incredible bond between pets and people. As Canada’s longest-standing pet recognition program, it celebrates animals whose acts of courage and loyalty have made a profound impact on the lives of others.
From saving lives to offering emotional support, each inductee has made a meaningful difference. Their stories inspire us to appreciate the everyday heroes in our own homes and communities.
We invite you to explore the stories of past inductees and consider nominating a pet who has shown exceptional courage or loyalty.
