Our Commitment to Climate Action

One hundred percent of Purina’s electricity in our U.S. facilities comes from investments in solar and wind power. It’s just one of the important steps Purina is taking to reduce our impact on climate change, while making the food that powers your pet more responsibly.

Investing in Renewable Electricity

A Big Investment in Solar Power

Our parent company, Nestlé, has invested in several large-scale solar projects to help expand our access to solar electricity in the U.S.

For our part, we’ve purchased 100 percent of the renewable electricity attributes generated by these projects, so we can source renewable electricity for Purina facilities.

Wind Power at Purina

We source wind power through local utilities at factories in Iowa and Missouri. We also source wind power for our two Pennsylvania factories. It’s all part of our larger effort to operate our facilities more sustainably.

100% of the electricity powering our U.S. facilities comes from solar and wind investments.

Advocating for Change

Shifting to renewable electricity sources must happen on a larger scale. That’s why we also help drive collective action across the pet industry and advocate for better climate policies with industry stakeholders. Doing so can help expand renewable energy infrastructure and incentives while helping us all work toward a more sustainable future.
